Aida Studios Frequently Asked Questions

How does this lesson program work?
Our ensemble is made up of highly-trained, well traveled musicians in the northern Virginia area, who have been teaching in-home lessons for years throughout Virginia and Maryland. We felt this service, normally reserved for an exclusive clientele that is preparing for important auditions, performances, or entrance to college programs, could be tailored to accommodate the needs of amateurs and hobbyists as well.
Lessons with Aida Studios happen on a 3-month cycle. Your initial enrollment deposit is $432, with 2 subsequent payments of $240.

If I use my Living Social voucher towards my deposit, what will my remaining payments be?
Your LivingSocial voucher can be used as your deposit into our 3-month program only if you choose to continue with lessons before the end of your voucher period. Your 3, monthly payments will be $279 each, and will hold your place through the 3-month term. The offer to continue your lessons this way represents a HUGE discount on our term fee.

Do you accept Credit or Debit cards?
Yes! You may pay tuition (but not gratuities) with a credit card, in person, during your lesson. There is a small convenience fee.

What’s a typical gratuity for an in-home music lesson?
We recommend at least a $10 (5%) gratuity (tip) for your teacher, at each lesson, especially if you do not live within the 25-mile radius of zipcode 22153.

When will my lessons be scheduled?
Lessons are placed onto the schedule based on teacher availability; as our service is in-home, we ask that you give us at least 3 optimal days and timeframes when we can serve you. We highly recommend using the online form available here, as it is the fastest way for us to consolidate your contact information. We are currently coming to the conclusion of our summer term, and we will schedule you with a teacher as space becomes available.

How do I reschedule or cancel one of my lessons?
Aida Studios allots 1 automatically excused absence or cancellation per 6 lessons, for any reason. We ask that you notify your teacher at least 48-hours in advance, whenever possible. You and your teacher can work out a day and time for a makeup lesson. Further cancellations/absences will be counted toward your total number of lessons, so please use your “automatic excuse” lesson carefully.
